@jacobm86243 years ago I agree with everything except for the lootboxes. I think they could keep the free level up lootboxes, but make it so you can pay for specific skins and items. That way players who don't want to pay for every little thing in the game can get a chance at new items while also allowing players to just pay for what they want. It also diminishes the gambling aspect because you won't be losing anything from the lootboxes except for maybe your time. ... 29

@Ecil23 years ago Thank you for continuing to make content even tho there is very little to make content about. It's just nice to see you sometimes Sty. I feel like the last 3/5 videos I've come across lately have been a little less joyful. You do the job of a journalist reporting on something I spent half a decade of my youth on, something I made a bunch of great friends and memories with.
I hope Blizzard can continue to develop the Overwatch property with an eye to what it could be. A game that can bring people together, empower them, and be fun.
As I meet more friends and look to the brighter days of tomorrow, I'll check in with my old friends too.

Afaik, the new UI was developed in the new engine, so unless you asking them to move the entire game over to the new engine, they would have to backport the new UI into the old engine, which would be alot of development towards something that is ultimately going to be phased out anyways. ... 9

@crodd93 years ago I do agree I like their skins, I think something they could even just try out is put this new overwatch 2, 5v5 on the current experimental mode(or maybe make it its own section) for current overwatch just for them to get some feedback by the rest of the community. Even If the experimental mode had no visual update but just 5v5 with maybe some balance changes that they have made in overwatch 2. They did have an experimental card in the past where it was 1 tank 3 dps and 2 healers and that was fun for my tanks. ... 4

Step 3: Implement a Clan System
Step 4: Implement a Tournament system with rewards
Step 5: Hold a Overwatch League mini-event with a few Buyable Cosmetics
Step 6: Hold a Special Event with New skins
Step 7: Implement a Major Hero Overhaul patch focused on Fixing Both Casual and Competitive Balance Issues
Step 8: Implement 1 New Hero into the game with some, little or no lore (it can be added later)
Step 9: Move Overwatch mini events to monthly schedules.
Step 10(Optional): Tweak issues and add minor features or visuals to increase game quality
Step 11: (the Variable step) :
There’s Options aren’t necessary but will impact how the game recovers from the content drought
Options:
Add A New Map
Add 1-3 Other Heroes with either some, little or no story

@ryuuM213 years ago Overwatch would've been relevant if they did balance updates all the way to release for a smooth transition in PvP. But that all went out the window when 5v5 was announced for OW2.
They basically threw out most of the accumulated community knowledge and progress into understanding the game in favor of creating a totally new one, which should take years in development in order to be as good. ... 2

@lincolntaylor87313 years ago I stopped playing overwatch in early 2019, and although I haven’t played the game in ages (not seriously at least.) I stayed subbed to you Sty because even if I don’t care about the game, I respect your opinion and you have always been very honest about the state of the game.
It honestly breaks my heart to see someone who loves the game as much as you clearly do be disappointed and frustrated and let down time and time again with the direction this game has gone in.
The overwatch I played was not the game it is today, it’s truely crazy to me how badly Activison Blizzard has fucked this up, not just overwatch 2 but, overwatch as a franchise.
I really hope that either they completely dissolve the idea of overwatch two and make it an update, or release it next year because as much as I hate to say it, this amazing game is going to die, for reals.

By buying and/or playing the game you are supporting a company with not only monstrous greed, but also the ruination of beloved titles and the perpetuation of a culture that shouldn't exist in a workplace environment.
Even if you can look past that all you're left with is a game that, even though we all love the time we've had with it, has failed in its attempts to be a live service for the past year and a half, and has already been consigned to be something of the past while we all sit in the dark with no end in sight just waiting for anything/everything. ... 2

@LinsenLucas3 years ago Although I do enjoy watching your videos, listening to what you have to say, I don't think I would be going back to Overwatch again by now, even if there was a new hero. I would just be like "Oh cool, imma test it in practice range" and that's it. Not even joking, but the more time passes, the less attracted I am to this game.
To put this statement into perspective:
I am/was in high Elo, playing the game for hours a day, everyday, for about 3 years. I basically was addicted to this game and improving myself. I never would've thought that I'd feel this much disinterest in Overwatch as I do today ... 2

@technonut98213 years ago I honestly think its time to start viewing Overwatch 2, and in turn also Overwatch 1, as a standalone product and NOT a live service, like the other shooters on the marked. The reason why is simple: We are gonna drive ourselfs mad waiting for it. But as soon as Overwatch isnt viewed as a live service game anymore, we can start to compare it to other upcoming games and see that blizzards decisions for the game - compared to those games - make sense
I do still disagree with Blizzard though, dont give me wrong. I think they should have treated Overwatch as a service and not a finalized product since they already kinda did, but the clear indecator that Overwatch in the eyes of the devs and managers is a product not a service, is because it got game of the year.
But at the end of the day we cant do anything about it. Just know that it will be worth the wait. Imo instead of speaking about the game in a negative light I think its the most fair if we just do what product gamers do best: be patient and play something else while waiting maybe even make some content on it 😉
Edit: Also tottally think they should do some sort of beta or soft launch or tech test thing even single players games do this just look at Elden Ring that just had tech demo for content creators (btw that game was announced the roughly same time as overwatch 2 was) ... 12

It was a panic PR move to take attention away from the controversy and save face. Then they attempted to carry that half baked vision forward with never actually intending on announcing anything in the first place. It's apparent that OW 2 was a wash from the start imo. Anyone who sees it differently simply has lower standards. Which blizzard has somewhat helped with...setting the bar low. ... 2

Even if they continue to sit on the unreleased maps, characters etc it would give the current community things to do while waiting for OW2. ...

Also I wanna move/ customize elements in my HUD besides my crosshairs....sound effects + colors even. It's just extra accessibility I say. ...

I know loot boxes were also a pain but since they also had skins for credits I felt that any repeats got me closer to something I wanted and I wasn’t on a time crunch ... 2
