This is why for the Coconut Mall glitch, we do not skip the full lap and make sure to hit all the key checkpoints. This is also known as the "start-line exploit". Any glitch which manipulates checkpoints does not count the lap (ex. Grumble Volcano, Mushroom Gorge, Wario's Goldmine Glitch) --- I don't know what the WR is for this category. Everyone's Wii's have different loading times so it's hard to really gage this against runs other people do unless you add up all the individual 32 track race times which is a hassle.
