Part of my Caribbean / St Kitts Marine Life Series. The Banded Butterflyfish (Chaetodon striatus), are an oval shaped fish growing to about up to 6 ins long. The bands that give the fish its name act as camouflage on the reef. They form very strong pair bonds early in life so will most often be seen with their mate. This series is a guide to the types of marine life you will find in the Caribbean generally and St Kitts in particular. St Kitts has many underwater reefs and an abundance of Marine Life, scuba diving here is rewarding and great for scuba training.
