The Netherlands Pavilion Expo 2020 Dubai (2021) is one of the most innovative pavilion with sustainable future for the planet Uniting water, energy and food, This video is a walk through of The Netherlands Pavilion (Dutch Pavilion) at Expo 2020 Dubai, the worlds largest exhibition with 192 participating countries. The Netherlands pavilion is designed as a biotope, a circular climate system that brings together Dutch innovative solutions to unite water, energy and food through innovation and show the connections between these three sectors. The Netherlands unites water, energy and food solutions for a sustainable greener planet. The story of biotope starts with water. Designer Ap Verheggen & SunGlacier Technologies developed the solar-powered rain shower ‘SunGlacier’, a Dutch innovation that allows us to harvest hundreds of liters water at the pavilion every day. The solar cells in the pavilion’s skylights, devised by solar designer Marjan van Aubel, together with regular solar roof panels, provide the SunGlacier with electricity. At the same time, these skylights allow sunlight to enter the pavilion, which the plants need for photosynthesis. Inside the pavilion, a giant green cone covered in edible plants, irrigated with the harvested water. On the inside, this food cone has the perfect conditions for growing oyster mushrooms: cold, dark and humid. Its design keeps the pavilion cool. The humidified air, rich in CO2, also provides the perfect climate to grow the edible plants on the outside of the cone. The materials used to build the Pavilion are reusable, recyclable or biodegradable.
