Learn how to make an easy petha saabzi/subji recipe. Cook with me & enjoy with your family. There is a lot of controversy over what this fruit/vegetable is actually called in Punjabi. From where my family is, it's known as Petha. In other parts of Punjab, it's often referred to as kaddu or mitha kaddu (sweet squash). A lot of people don't add tomatoes in this saabzi/subji because it becomes watery. However, personally I think it makes it tastes better. Aside from the controversies, this is the perfect vegetable to make when you are craving something sweet & sour. This saabzi/subji goes best with plain parathas or phulkas/roti and dhai. Prep time: 30 minutes Cooking Time: 40 minutes Serves: 1 big pot Ingredients: 1 Petha / Mitha Kaddu / Indian Squash / Ayote Squash 4-5 Small Sized Onions (sliced) 4-5 Medium Size Tomato (chopped) 2 tbs of Oil 2 Cloves of Garlic 3-4 Green Chillies 1 tablespoon Fenugreek seeds 1 tablespoon of Haldi/Turmeric powder 1 tablespoon of Red Chili Powder 1 tablespoon of Red Chili Flakes 1 tablespoon of Kitchen King Masala (https://amzn.to/3jFpzV3) Salt to taste #PethaSaabzi #kaddu #indiansquash 0:00 Introduction to Petha Saabzi 0:09 Ingredients for Petha Saabzi 1:05 Tadka / Sautee for Petha Saabzi 2:20 Spices added to Petha saabzi 3:35 Petha being added to tadka / sautee 4:16 Petha sabzi being cooked 5:33 Petha saabzi is ready Don't forget to like, comment, share and subscribe Follow me on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/cookwithpuneet Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/cookwithpuneet Pinterest: https://www.pinterest.ca/cookwithpuneet TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@ cookwithpuneet
