Staying Connected with our Future Wildcats Subscribe: http://go.arizona.edu/yt-subscribe University of Arizona President Robert C. Robbins is joined by Kasey Urquidez, VP of Enrollment Management and Dean of Undergraduate Admissions to discuss how the University is connecting virtually with future Wildcats during the COVID-19 pandemic. While President Robbins and Kasey discuss how we cannot wait to see our Fall 2020 incoming students, we understand students and their families have many questions as we’re all staying home and safe at this time. Kasey shares resources that she and her team are deploying, including FaceTime and Zoom calls with incoming students and their families, video ‘How-to’ sessions and the ‘Ask a Wildcat’ campaign on Instagram to help the incoming class prepare for life at Arizona in the fall. They also discuss how it is critical that we all keep an eye toward the future. Normally, high school juniors are touring prospective campuses right now. With them in mind, Kasey and her team are also promoting alternative virtual tours and Admissions 101 sessions in English and Spanish. Connecting with our high school counselors is also a priority. The Admissions and Enrollment teams are communicating regularly with these partners and creating resources to help them answer their students’ questions ranging from the impact of pass/no pass on admissions to financial aid support. The University of Arizona existed before Arizona was a state. Our first graduating class in 1895 consisted of two women and one male. Since then, we've learned that we're better together. We do more when we work across backgrounds, skills and perspectives. That's how we've become long-time partners with NASA, leaders in both the arts and sciences, and able to prepare students to succeed in a world where most of the jobs today's kindergartners will have don't even exist yet. We know how to converge. #universityofarizona #arizona #university
