Load cells are mechanical instruments used for measuring the weights of slowly moving objects or bodies. It is either provided with a platform or mechanical support to attach the object to be weighed. It is of two types:- 1. Coloumn Type Load Cell 2. Proving Ring Type Load Cell The coloumn type load cell is of cylindical or rod shaped with two pairs of strain gauges placed on inner and outer sides to measure compressional and tensile strain.
