@jgeez88292 years ago Its good to see bjj guys work in theirgame. I always thought that the lack of takedowns was a big flaw in bjj. This new focus on takedowns will help jiu jitsu guys who transition to mma so much. 18

@mylanmay2 years ago What cyborg says at the start of the video is exactly what ruins adcc matches in my opinion. Now you' ve got matches where nothing' s really happening the original idea behind this ruleset is to allow the competitors to take a lot of risks in order to score a submission until points kick in. It' s a shame that the ruleset is being exploited in this way and we end up with boring matches. ...Expand

@SolarJakee2 years ago Personally, not a fan of being able to win tournaments by taking you' re opponent down if you can' t do anything with the takedown and have zero actual threat of submission of even passing.
  • @
@smiche22 years ago Gordon ryan did prove this adcc that wrestling is not really the main tactical approach to win if your bjj game is on point. He literally gave free takedowns under adcc rules there' s no scoring in the first 10 minutes so you can see people trying out wrestling without risking too much and once scoring approaches they' d give away a takedown. Giving away a takedown is basically pulling guard but without the penalty. I still don' t think that wrestling will overtake bjj (in bjj tournaments) they' re simply 2 different sports with some overlap. And if the rules are changed so wrestling becomes even more important i think it will work against the popularity of bjj. ...Expand 1
